So where is ideology? When we are dealing with a problem which is undoubtedly real, the ideological designation introduces its invisible mystification. For example, tolerance designates a real problem. When I criticize it, I am routinely asked: "But how can you be in favour of intolerance towards foreigners, of misogyny, of homophobia?"

Therein resides the catch! Of course I am not against tolerance per se. What I oppose is the perception of racism as a problem of intolerance. Why are so many problems today perceived as problems of intolerance rather than problems of inequality, exploitation or injustice? Why is the proposed remedy tolerance, rather than emancipation, political struggle or even armed struggle? The source of this culturalization is defeat: the failure of directly political solutions such as social democracy. Tolerance has become the post-political ersatz.

In the world of today, 'tolerance' is a code word for resignation. We must tolerate the perpetuated defeat of politics. That's why so many people start hating multi-culturalism and tolerance. That's why people become fascist. Fascism emerges from the refusal to believe that justice and fairness is possible.

The bottom line:

!!!NO ONE GIVES A SHIT ABOUT CULTURE!!!

Multi-cultural societies exist since the very beginning of time. But somehow, the issue of cultural difference always comes up when the economy is in deep shit. It happened in the late 20's and the result was six million Jews being slaughtered with cold blood.

But the bigger problem is that this time it's the left wing which betrayed the working class in the first place! They didn't learn from history. They didn't realize that they must not let the economy go back into the hands of liberalism under any circumstances.

This was the second death of politics.

Instead of politics, they started talking about culture. This was treason! No one gave a shit about the cultural difference of Muslims, Gypsies or black people as long as they were employed in our factories. And the left wing, instead of viciously attacking the right wing for massacring the industry, they started talking about tolerance. They started labeling every political issue they could find as a problem of intolerance. This instead of focusing on the right-wing project of neoliberalism.

It was all treason.
Against our countries, against the working class, against mankind...
