Anything is Possible

In this great Western culture, we are constantly being told that everything is possible. We can travel to the moon, we can build skyscrapers higher than ever, computers faster than ever, telephones smaller then ever, we can cure AIDS and cancer, we can live to 200 years, we can build bridges across continents, we can have a larger penis, et cetera, et cetera...

Considering the fact that so many things are possible, I might ask:

- Why can't we raise taxes on large corporations and millionaires?
- Why can't we give decent healthcare for everyone?
- Why can't we give housing for everyone?
- Why can't we give jobs for everyone?
- Why can't we give food for everyone?
- Why is poverty rising in the richest nations of the world?
- Why do we have to do more work for less when our productivity is higher than ever?
- Why can't we emloy some of the unemployed instead of us working more and more?

Anything is possible, yeah? Cut the crap!

If engineers would think like bankers and politicians, we would still be living in the stone age...
